Ian Meldrum when I first knew him, at his desk,

working as a journo for the pop music paper,

"Go-Set".

He is now universally known as "Molly".

This[on the right, below] is John Stephane,

a long-time friend I've

known since before his 21st birthday.

This is Tony Maynard at about age 16 or 17, when

I first knew him. He's a lot older now, and wears

contact lenses. He's a clever bloke who was at one

stage awarded a Churchill Fellowship.

[right, below] Norbert [Norb] O'Callaghan [RIP] I worked with Norb

in the PMG, and stayed in contact with him and his family afterwards.

[below] John Trivett, a long-time friend,

[on the left of the photo below] Thorold Merrett, in the days when he was still playing football for

Collingwood. I had asked Thorold to be a server for my First Mass, but that was not to be, as he

was on crutches with his leg in plaster, from a football injury.

although it is now years since I've had any contact with him.

"John Henry" to distinguish him from his father, who was also John.

friends Nigel and Barry, who I visit most Saturdays.

[below] Troy Perry, founder of the Metropolitan Community Churches,

a group of gay-friendly churches. I met Troy when he first visited Australia.

AIDS Conference in New Delhi, here with Jeff, his

"significant other".

[to the right, below] This is David Stevens, whom I've known for years. He wrote the script for one of Russell Crowe's early films, "The Sum of Us". He now lives in the USA and does a lot of film directing. This photo was taken when I stayed with him and his significant other in LA a few years back.
